Ankur Gujarati Samaj is pleased to announce the 2008 Education Scholarship program. Two scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded to High School seniors in May 2008. The eligibility and selection criteria are provided here.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this merit based scholarship you must:
· Be a child of a current Ankur Member
· Be a graduating high school senior, class of 2008
· Be accepted in a baccalaureate degree-awarding program at an accredited college or university in the U.S. for the 2008-2008 academic year
Selection Criteria
Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria:
· Academic record
· Community service
· Extra-curricular activities, School activities, Leadership skills, and work experience
· Compelling essay; correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling
· A Letter of recommendation (must include Academic record, academic plans and career goals, personal strengths and weaknesses; including motivation, and commitment, community service and extracurricular activities, etc.) The letter should be provided in a sealed envelope with a signature across the seam of the envelope.
· Resume (one type-written page, minimum font size 11)
Transcript(s) and other Documents
Provide an official transcript from your current high school and it must include
· a cumulative GPA
· the name of your institution and your name, Social Security number and date of birth
· Official document of SAT or ACT score
Essay Requirement
A 500-word essay (one type-written page, minimum font size 11)
Postmark Deadline
All materials must be mailed in one package that is post marked on or before April 27, 2008.
Mail to the address provided on the application form.
Award Notification
The Ankur Gujarati Samaj Education Scholarship winners will be announced at the Father's Day Picnic.
Scholarship Selection
The awardees will be selected by the Education Scholarship Committee and their decision will be final.
